Interaction is not a form of contract, but a method in which the builder draws the contractor early into the design (pre-project) with the goal of, among other things, optimizing solutions and increasing predictability in terms of costs and construction time. For the contractor, the goal is, first of all, to implement the project (implementation phase). It is often said that interaction depends on the people. It is nothing new that projects depend on the people, but it is not specifically for interaction and applies to all execution models. Interaction is resource-intensive and places great demands on participants. It is not “a walk in the park” nor a “quick fix” solution to what may be challenging when implementing projects. In projects, people are put to manage significant values. Both builders and contractors should therefore ensure that the framework conditions are optimal. The framework conditions should be built up under the people in such a way that they are best equipped to achieve the defined objectives. This applies to all forms of implementation model, but also when interaction is chosen.
