Bygg og Projektjus AS (BPJ), org nr. 932 991 888, has developed a web-based knowledge platform with a particular focus on legal issues that regularly arise in construction projects — with a focus on construction law and related areas of law.
The platform consists of several entities that collectively are given the name BPJ — The Academy. As of today, this consists of Chat-BPJ, Knowledge Base and E-learning modules.
Anyone who uses one or more of the services referred to in paragraph 1 confirms that they have read, understood and accepted these terms and conditions which are openly available on the BPJ website.
The service is available online only. Such access is solely at the user's risk and cost.
Access to the service requires login.
Login is done by using the user's email address as the username, while the user creates his own password.
Access is personal and username/password should not be shared with others.
The Service is not designed for the use of personal or other sensitive information about, for example, counterparties or contract-specific information.
It is also not necessary to use such information when asking questions via CHAT-BPJ.
When using CHAT-BPJ, it is necessary to ask questions about legal issues without relating this to specific projects, persons or other things that must be considered as person-sensitive.
How contract law provisions, legal texts and regulations are to be interpreted is always based on a certain discretion. Law is not mathematics. With that caveat, we would like to clarify that all content has been prepared in the best legal discretion and sense.
The content is regularly quality assured and updated as legal developments dictate.
Using a knowledge platform like the BPJ Academy is something completely different than obtaining legal advice and/or legal advice. BPJ and the BPJ Academy do not provide legal advice or legal advice, which must therefore be obtained separately if the user has such a need.
Chat bpj has been tested in an in-depth way.
It bases its answers on the Knowledge Base, and it is instructed not to pull information from the internet. The chat bpj is also instructed not to guess their way forward to possible answers (hallucinate).
However, such language models are in rapid development and they are generic. This means that we cannot give any warranty and it is necessary to take into account that errors or misunderstandings may occur.
With that said, if the user should have any doubts — even after comparing a reply with the article or articles that Chat-BPJ has used as a source to generate his answer — the user can contact us at firmapost@byggogprosjektjus.no.
BPJ cannot be held liable for any legal loss, financial loss of any kind, reputational loss or any other form of damage that may arise as a result of the user's application of the BPJ Academy.
Under no circumstances can BPJ's total liability exceed the subscription fee paid by the individual user for the period during which the potential damage should have occurred.
Any kind of copying, photographing, downloading, printing and/ or audio recording from the Knowledge Platform is prohibited.
The only exception applies to questions/ answers from the chat BPJ dialog which the user can copy and save for their own use.
It is not allowed to use data from the Knowledge Platform to train or develop our own solutions relating to KI/AI.
These terms apply regardless of whether the user uses the service free of charge (trial period) or for payment (subscription).
All content (written, images and audio) covered by the BPJ Academy is protected by “Intellectual Property Copyright Law, etc.” (Intellectual Property Act).
The User may use the Content within the limits provided by these Terms and Conditions and only as an auxiliary tool for their own use.
If the user wishes to use the content in any other way, this presupposes a separate written agreement with BPJ.
BPJ has the right to use the user's name and trademark in its marketing of the BPJ Academy. The presentation must be loyal and will typically involve the user's logo and name being posted on BPJ's website or used on foils and other visual material in connection with presentations etc.
